Who We Are
Wendel Jackman is a visionary who with precision, clarity, and intensity is committed to serve the financially underserved in America.
Mr. Jackman is the founder and CEO of the Jackman Group and he brings over two decades of business and financial services expertise to the community. In addition to his financial expertise he is a sought-after speaker and educator for churches and business groups.
Mr. Jackman came to America in 1982; because of his fierce determination to succeed he received his High School Diploma in New York City, and then enrolled at City University of New York (CUNY) where he received a degree in Computer Engineering Technology. While working as a testing engineer he decided to pursue his true passion… serving people.
From his experiences as a private school teacher, he acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to teach adults the things that he had learned about people and their money. Mr. Jackman’s deep need for a life of harmony with family led him to turn his attention to the financial services sector.
He obtained professional licensure as an NASD Registered Investment Principal, a national insurance broker, a mortgage broker, and he is a Certified Professional Financial Analyst. After reaching the level of regional Vice-President Mr. Jackman started a successful franchise under the corporate Primerica financial services umbrella.
Due to his commitment to his faith and his family, Mr. Jackman was compelled to close his Primerica business and start his own where he could have more time for his family and his God. He also felt it was important that his business reflect principles that he firmly held on to: family and God first. Mr. Jackman is quoted as saying, “It is an impossible conflict – the stress of taking care of the bills. It allows no personal development time. I thought if I could get people relieved of debt, they would be able to find more time to serve the Lord and take care of their families.”
After years of observing people earn money but not build wealth, Mr. Jackman saw the need for re-education. “My company provides financial literacy. We demystify credit and teach people how to take care of their credit on their own. We also teach financial literacy education and offer professional financial planning services. We teach people to teach others. That is the only way this community can win.”
According to Mr. Jackman, around 80% of the population has financial needs. He says, “We are targeting this market because they have been led to believe that their credit is ‘bad’, and that they are ‘broke’. Because of my desire to help people, I see that this group is where the true need lies.”
Jackman Group has solid relationships with all of the major banks, which include Washington Mutual, Wachovia, Countrywide, and Bank of America. These relationships allow Jackman Group to have access to mortgage loans nationwide.
As a visionary, Wendel Jackman has developed a groundbreaking “new way of thinking.” Mr. Jackman saw the need for the public to understand how their savings, their mortgages, and their insurance can work together to build wealth. “A house, for example, is one of the best avenues for creating wealth, but most people don’t use it for that. They just pay the mortgage off over 30 years and live in it. We want to change that way of thinking and allow people to live a financially free life.” If Mr. Jackman gets his way, the world will be changed one family at a time.
Wendel Jackman feels that the majority of Americans are in a state of crisis with their finances.
As a family-based business, Mr. Jackman heads his company with his wife, who serves as president. He is father to two lovely daughters, one who heads the Insurance department at Jackman Group, and another who is in High School.
Jackman finally says, “Jackman Group wants to keep our clients for life. We want to serve our clients, their children, and their grandchildren. Whenever people talk about their finances, they will say Jackman Group.”
